Last year she was met with tough competition, this year she’s riding solo. Eight-year-old Hailey Lacy is the single contestant in the Cushing Community PRCA Rodeo Queen competition. But just because she’s unopposed, doesn’t mean she gets the crown. She still must earn it by selling rodeo tickets.
Hailey is the daughter of Ronnie and Becky Collins and Chad Schroeder, and the granddaughter of Johnny and Vicky Lacy, all of Cushing. Last year she competed against her friend Heidi Snell and lost. This year the odds are she has a pretty good chance of winning. With a winning combination of her perkiness, adorable smile and horsemanship – she ought to be a shoe in.
