Larry Joe Pate, age 63, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away at his home in Cushing on August 13, 2009.  Prayer Services will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday evening at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home.  Graveside service will be held on 10:00 a.m. , Monday, at Pate Family Cemetery , Cushing.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Larry was born on November 19, 1945 in Cushing to the late Harry Samuel and Martha Jane (Keller) Pate.  He grew up in Cushing.  Larry attended Olive Schools , graduating from Olive High School in 1963.  Larry drove a truck most of his life.  He retired from Melton Trucking in Tulsa .  Larry loved attending rodeo’s, especially enjoyed watching the horses.  He was a member of the Sac and Fox Tribe.  Larry liked to go fishing.  He loved spending time with his two favorite pets “Lonesome and Tippy”.

Larry is survived by his sons James Pate of Arizona and Larry Joe Pate II of San Antonio ,

Daughters Laura Jo Hendricks of Tahlequah and Kim Barnes of Peggs, brothers Samuel Pate and wife Chris of Boise, Idaho, sisters Carol Childers of Cushing, Brenda Nicholas and husband Vernon of Drumright, Diana Hopkins and husband Danny of Cushing, grandchildren Ty Miller, Caylea Jo Coles, Tedi Barnes, Albert Barnes, Dalton, Kelie and Gabrielle Pate, Hannah, Haydan and Colton Pate, and also survived by the Butler Family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, his granddaughter and a niece.
