LaBeth Erwin, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at her home in Cushing at the age of 76. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the First Free Will Baptist Church, Cushing. Rev. James Coffelt and Mr. Curtis Cooper will officiate.
Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.
The family will greet friends at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home from 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday evening. Beth was born on September 1, 1937 in Elmore City to Womack “Pete” and Francis Elizabeth (Terry) Nation. She grew up and attended school in Elmore City and Pauls Valley, Ok. Her family moved to Wilmington, California her senior year, therefore graduating from Wilmington High School in 1955. She married Ross Lozier on August 9, 1955 in Elmore City, to this union Janice and Lissa were born. They moved to California after getting married and lived there until 1966. In May of 1966, they moved to Cushing and have lived since. Beth was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. Her husband Ross passed away on May 9, 1994. In 1997, she married Bill Erwin at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Cushing. They enjoyed traveling from Key West to Maine. Beth enjoyed reading, sewing, watching HGTV and playing Joker. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Beth is survived by her husband Bill of the home, daughters Janice Cooper and husband Curtis of Cushing, Lissa Lozier of Norman, Bill’s children Karen Bowles and husband Greg of Oklahoma City and Mark Erwin and wife Tracy of Weston, Fl., brother Terry Nation and Pam Stalcup of Lindborg, Ks., grandchildren Jayson Cooper, Nathan Cooper and wife Jordan, Kristin Bowles, Josh Bowles, Evan and Jacob Erwin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Ross Lozier. In lieu of flowers , memorials may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church, Cushing, Ok.
