Tuesday, August 4th marks one year since the debut of The Donna and Molly Show.  To celebrate that year, the show will be LIVE from the Cushing Chamber of Commerce.

The idea for The Donna and Molly Show came about a few months after Donna Judd and Molly Payne went to work for KUSH 1600 AM radio owner and operated, Sean Kelly.  Touting themselves as “The KUSH Girls,” Donna and Molly proved their worth to “Mr. Kelly” by spreading the word about his new website, www.1600.com and contributing to it as often as possible.

After hearing the bantering between the KUSH Girls, Mr. Kelly made an executive decision to give them their own show.

And that’s how the Donna and Molly Show was born.

Over the past year, the KUSH Girls have interviewed over 150 guests.  Guests such as Rep. Lee Denney, Sen. Jim Halligan, Cushing Mayor John Henckel, Drumright historian, J.J. Cook, author Kim Gatlin, Cushing historian, Roy Kemp, doctors, lawyers, merchants, and chiefs along with students, queens and princesses and yes…even cowboys, are just a few on the list.

The main goal of The Donna and Molly Show is to keep Cushing and its surrounding communities informed of what’s going on and the people who are making it happen.  They bring 32 years of friendship to the plate, along with a big dose of spontaneity and sometimes silly humor.

Come help them celebrate, Tuesday, August 4th at the Cushing Chamber of Commerce, located at 1301 E. Main.  Showtime is from 7 – 11 a.m.   A reception will be held from 11 a.m. ‘til 1 p.m. featuring an assortment of food items or food places the KUSH Girls have talked about:  Homestead biscuits & gravy, Kentucky Fried Chicken hot wings, Naifeh’s sandwiches, roll-ups and tabouleh, Escott’s fruit tray, Big Rob’s pig shaped baloney, items from local vineyards, Tidal School and Territory Cellars, “cool, refreshing Ozarka Water” from Aqua Pleasures and specialty dishes made by Carolyn Allison, Viola Brannon and Holly Tichenor.

This is not an event you’ll want to miss.  Tune in to 1600 AM Radio on Tuesday, August 4th from 7 – 11 a.m. and if you get a chance – stop by and introduce yourself.  You might even get your chance to say hello to all those folks in “AM radio land.”
