(Cushing, Okla.) KUSH paid a visit to Mrs. Kuykendall’s 4th grade class at Deep Rock Elementary on Wednesday to thank them personally for the Christmas cards they sent to KUSH. The cards included personal notes from the students thanking KUSH for the music, news, singing, interviews and talking on the radio.
Molly Payne and Joyce Abrams from MoJo in the Morning were introduced by Deep Rock Principal Teresa Shaffer. Each child was presented a Christmas card from KUSH and Mrs. Kuykendall was given a radio for the classroom – tuned to 1600 KUSH – to be used at her discretion.
“We had a great time visiting with the kids,” Abrams said. “It was heart-warming to learn more about the kids and to hear their parents are tuned in to KUSH!”
This is the last year for Deep Rock to be open. Next year elementary classes will be combined as grade centers. Kindergarten and first grade classes will be at Harmony; second, third & fourth classes will be in the remodeled middle school building and fifth graders will go to the new middle school.
