Kenneth Wilbur Lake, a resident of Cushing, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the age of 79 years at the Linwood Village Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, OK.

The son of the late Earnest C. Lake and Jessie (Whitmore) Lake, Kenneth was born on August 17, 1929 in Coyle, OK. Kenneth graduated from Coyle High School and had attended night classes at a college in Wichita, KS. Kenneth also had served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Kenneth worked as a welder for a short while he then went to work for Consolidated Foods in Tulsa, OK. retiring as a foreman over the conveyor area.

He was a 32 degree Mason and also was a member of the VFW.

Kenneth enjoyed the music at the Senior Citizens and attended three or four nights a week for many years. Kenneth had met Mary Ann Rayson at the Center and the two were married on July 8, 1995. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2007.

Survivors include his daughter Beverly Miller and her husband Lambert of Wideman, AR.; one brother Sam Lake and his wife Dorothy of CA.; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a special cousin Evelyn Smith and her husband Kenny.

In addition to his parent and wife, Kenneth was preceded in death by his son Steven Lake and brother Vernon Lake.
