Kenneth S. Long, age 77 of Yale, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday at Fellowship Baptist Church, 200 E. Chicago, Yale. Bro. Mich Dershem will officiate. Interment will follow at Lawson Cemetery in Yale.

Kenneth was born on October 28, 1932 in El Dorado, Kansas to John and Thelma (Welty) Long. He grew up in and around El Dorado, graduating from El Dorado High School in 1950. Kenneth entered the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was part of the 36th Air and Sea Rescue in Japan. Kenneth married Sandra Clemons on July 16, 1956 in El Dorado , Ks., where they made their home. For 25 years, Kenneth owned/operated Long Supply Co. In 1994, he retired and moved to Yale, Ok.
Kenneth was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., member of Mid-Kansas Power of YesterYear, and a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He enjoyed flying, hunting, fishing, antique tractors/cars, playing cards, reading the newspaper and spending time outdoors with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Sandra of the home, son John Long and wife Mindy of Newton, Ks., daughter Loretta Skillings and husband James of Stillwater, Ok., grandchildren, Sharon and Erica Long, Joshua, Sarah and Rebekah Skillings, brother Willis Long and wife Veda of El Dorado, Ks., sisters Jessie Foster of Park City, Ks., Marilyn Fisher of Towanda, Ks.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Roy Long.
