Jimmy Douglas “JIMBO” Roberts, age 53 of Cushing, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at his home in Cushing. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Palmers Marler Funeral Home, Chapel.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing Ok.
Jimmy was born on October 1, 1958 in Twenty nine Palms, California to George Douglas and Mildred Alice (Cooley) Roberts. Jimmy grew up in Konawa, graduating with the Class of 1976. He married his high school sweet heart Patricia Ann Mullins, to this union one child was born, Trenda. As sometimes happens in life Jimmy experienced Divorce. He moved to Cushing where he met Janice, while working for Cable Vision of Cushing. Jimmy married Janice Rush on October 20, 1984 in Cushing at the famed ” Bob’s Grill”. They have been together for 32 years. To this union one child was born, Rebecca. The family moved to Woodward, in 1992, where they managed 3 restaurants for 7 years. Over the years Jimmy has had many trades, designing and building boats, painting, He built one of the first prototype fiberglass fittings for Irvin Caps, fabrication welding, and oil field. He had a passion for all of them. Jimmy loved hunting and fishing, camping and boating, just being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Janice of the home, daughters Trenda Cates and husband Jerry of Beale, California, Rebecca Roberts of Cushing, mother Mildred Roberts, brother Greg Roberts of Yale, sister Cynthia Roberts of Stillwater, grandchildren Shawn Cates, Dylan Cates, Kennan Cates, Zaire Cates and Maximus Mace
Jimmy was proceeded in death by his father George Douglas Roberts.
