Jimmie “Jim” Wayne Staley, age 64 of Oilton, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.  Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday at Lawson Cemetery, Yale.  Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale.

Jim was born on May 11, 1945 in Yale to the late Johnny L. and Edith (Johnson) Staley. He grew up and attended school in Yale.  Jim worked as an X-Ray technician and later working as a welder’s assistant on the Alaskan pipeline in the oilfield for a number of years.  Jim was a member of the Pipeliners Union 798.  He also drove a cement truck for a few years.  Jim lived in Oilton most of his life.  He retired from the pipeline in 2004.  Jim liked to play pool and hang with his friends.  He enjoyed gardening especially raising tomatoes.

Survivors include his daughter Lisa Molder and husband Gary of Oilton, mother Edith Staley of Stillwater, sister Sue Cook and husband Jerry of Stillwater, grandchildren Andrea, Brian and John Molder, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Johnny Staley, brother Jerry Staley, nephew Lee Wayne Staley.
