The son of the late Earnest A. Rogers and Agnes N. (Newberry) Rogers, Jerry was born on April 27, 1938 in Tulsa, OK. He was reared and educated in Tulsa graduating from Holy Family and Oklahoma Military Academy with the class of 1957 where he lettered in football. Jerry had attended Tulsa Junior College before entering the United States Army in 1958. Jerry was united in marriage to Linda Kay Myers on January 31, 1976 in Las Vegas, NV. Jerry worked for many years as an oil and gas producer before owning Rogers Realty in Cushing.
Jerry enjoyed staying active in the community and with the First United Methodist Church where he was a member. He had served on numerous committees within the church and had more recently been a member of the Cushing Lion’s Club, Cushing Elk’s Lodge, and the Cushing Country Club (where he served as a board member in 2006). Prior to moving to Cushing, Jerry was the director for the Innkeepers Invitational Golf Classic for 1968-1969, member of the Tulsa Jaycee’s in 1961, and had been the director for the Miss Tulsa Pageant.
