James “Jay” Harrison Warnock of Yale passed away on Friday, May 8, 2009 in Drumright at the age of 87.  James was born on December 28, 1921 in Maramec, Oklahoma.
    His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2009 in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing with Interment to follow in the Lawson Cemetery at Yale, Oklahoma.
    Mr. Warnock graduated from Maramec High School in 1939 and served proudly in the United States Navy during W.W.II.  He married Bonnie Lorene Willard in 1942.  After being honorably discharged in 1945, he worked doing pipeline construction in every state in the United States and Canada.  He retired to 2008.  Jay was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Yale, was a car enthusiast.  He also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids at the lake, going to the car races, vacationing with family and listening to music with his friends.
    He was preceded in death by his father, James Harrison Warnock, his mother, Mary Louise Wise, his sister, Naomi Marie Narry, his son, Jimmie Forest Warnock and a grandson, James Michael Warnock.
    He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Diana and Keith Forbes of Holden, La and Dena and Tony Vassar of San Antonio, Tx, ten grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren as well as numerous other family members and close friends.
    A special thank you to his granddaughter, Shelley Thomas and Liz Wilson for their love and care during his recent illness and death.
    Lives touched by Jay are unforgettable because he was such a wonderful man.
    Visitation for Mr. Warnock will be held at 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.
