James Frank Allen, Jr., “Frank,” passed away March 17, 2011, after three open-heart surgeries over the last five years and complications from his last surgery on December 3rd, 2010, Frank died suddenly Thursday morning at his home. Frank was 55.

 

Frank was born October 13, 1955 in Cushing, Oklahoma to James Frank Allen, Sr. and Bettie Louise Bush Allen. Frank grew up with three sisters: Billie, Alana, and Priscilla (P.D.).

Frank spent his childhood in New Iberia and Chalmette, Louisiana and Cushing, Oklahoma graduating from Cushing High School in 1973. Frank attended Oklahoma State University for two years. Frank worked for many years in Cushing at Dalton Precision and later worked in Oklahoma City and Houston as a crane operator.

 

Frank married Kathy Flowers on January 5, 1982 with his mother and father as witnesses. Frank and Kathy have two children, Melissa Dawn Allen-Wedman, 25, and James Frank Allen, III, 23. Frank also has a daughter, Julie Lynn Allen, 36, Kilgore, Texas. Frank and Kathy became grandparents on May 28, 2010 with the birth of Madilynn Frances Wedman. Frank was a proud and loving grandfather.

 

Frank was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Union Local 627 and worked at Allied Steel as a Crane Operator since 1996. Frank was a gun enthusiast, a life-long member of the National Rifle Association, a great cook, and loved outdoor activities such as shooting, fishing, kayaking and canoeing. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He will be missed greatly.

 

Frank was preceded in death by his mother, father, and oldest sister. He is survived by: wife Kathy of 29 years of Yukon, daughter Melissa Allen-Wedman, her husband Justin Wedman, and daughter, Madilynn of Fort Gibson and son James “Frank” Allen, III of Yukon, sisters Alana Frances Allen of Edmond and Priscilla Dawn Allen of Oklahoma City. Frank also had numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who he loved and enjoyed.

 

Funeral services for Frank will be at Smith and Turner Mortuary, 201 East Main, Yukon on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Viewing will be available on Saturday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 to 8:00 p.m.
