(Cushing, Okla.) Cushing’s Downtown Revitalization Association (DRCA) and some wonderful volunteers have put together another terrific Soup Thyme event scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Commemorative mugs and cookbooks are on sale for $10 each or purchase both for $18. .

This year’s theme is “Rock N Roll” and there will be music resonating throughout downtown provided by Golden Reflections/DJ Express with Paul and Etha Tinnie. An added event this year includes a “Tasting Party” that will be held on Thursday, March 5th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Cushing Community Theater, 105 E. Broadway. For only $2, stop by and taste some of the recipes featured in the cookbook. There will also be a photo booth at Copper Penny, 201 E. Broadway, during Soup Thyme where you and your friends can get your “mug shot” for only $2.

Proceeds from the Soup Thyme event will be used for continued maintenance of Centennial Park and other downtown projects

This year, “secret judges” will be making the rounds, tasting and declaring a winner for best soup and decoration. First place in soup will receive $25, second place $10. The best decorated station will receive a $10 Aroma Cafe gift card.
