(Cushing, Okla.) Are you ready to rodeo?
The 27th Annual Cushing Community PRCA Rodeo will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 10th with a pre-show by Right Path Riding Academy. At 8 o’clock, Justin McKee returns as announcer again this year. McKee has become a staple of the Cushing Community PRCA Rodeo, sharing his quick wit and vast knowledge of rodeo with the crowd for over the past 20 plus years.
Also returning this year, the Canadian Valley Rangerettes, who continue to thrill rodeo-goers with their fast paced, synchronized routines. The popular Rangerettes will perform both evenings.Saturday evening, there will be a pre-show featuring the Wells Fargo Stagecoach at 7:30 p.m. The stagecoach is led by a team of trained horses, guided by an experienced driver.
This year’s specialty act, the Cowgirl Sweethearts, will perform death defying stunts via horseback both nights of the Rodeo. Linday Nealey and Haley Ganzel form this tough as nails trick riding duo. Both have been performing at rodeos and Wild West shows from a young age.
Another highlight of this year’s rodeo, will be the comedy of Gizmo McCracken. Not only does he bring good, clean, family-style comedy to the arena, but he will serve as barrelman for the bull riding events.
Events include: Bareback Riding, Steer Roping & Permit Steer Roping, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie Down Roping, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding and the Boot Race, always a favorite of the kids.
Slack events will be held Friday at 8 a.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m.
Tickets are on sale now at either Bank of Cushing location: 224 E. Broadway and 2106 E. Main. Purchase your tickets in advance for just $10. Tickets at the gate $12. Kids 5 and under get in FREE!
