(Cushing, Okla.) It’s that time of year again – Rodeo time!  The 22nd Annual Cushing Community PRCA Rodeo will be held July 9 – 10, 2010 at the rodeo grounds on North Linwood.  The fun will begin Thursday, July 8th (weather permitting) with an exhibition at 6 p.m. and Jackpot at 7:30 p.m.  Friday, July 9th and Saturday, July 10th, students from Right Path Academy will warm up the crowd with a pre-show presentation.

This year’s Specialty Act is an amazing duo – Leon and Vicki Adams.  Leon and Vicki have performed all over the world, such as Mexico, Canada, Paris, France, Helsinki, Finland and even Japan.  Their acts have been nominated 20 times in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and have won the honor of Specialty Acts of the Year a whopping FOUR times!  In 2008, Leon and Vicki were both inducted into the Pro Rodeo Cowboy hall of Fame.  Leon is known for his famous Roman Riding Brahmas and Vicki for her famous dancing horses.  The couple has trained high schooled dressage horses that continue to amaze people with their high march steps and arena spanning hind leg walks.  Vicki and Leon live and operate a 2500 acre cattle ranch, which won the Conservation Rancher of the Year in 1993, in Stuart, Oklahoma.

Joining Leon and Vicki is their grandson Zayne Allen Goode.  He is an 11-year-old of Native American decent.  He lives in the small town of Stuart, Oklahoma and is currently the leader for the 10 and under All-Around Cowboy in the Oklahoma Jr. Rodeo Association.  He recently started Roman riding under the instruction of his grandfather -the Legendary Leon Adams!  His grandparents are extremely proud of him and believe he has a bright future in the world of rodeo and entertaining.

Returning this year are the ever-popular Canadian Valley Rangerettes.  They are the longest running equestrian drill team in the state of Oklahoma.  They continue to thrill audiences with their exciting precision drills.

From barrel racing to bull riding, the Cushing Community PRCA Rodeo is guaranteed to be a fun event for the whole family.
