(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.

 

A personal injury collision occurred on November 11th (2018) at approximately 6:14 pm on the Turner Turnpike westbound at MM 194 near Bristow, in Creek County.

 

David Ebers (31) of Wellston, was driving a 1984 Peterbilt semi when the coupling released from vehicle causing the truck and trailer to separate with the trailer coming to rest in the outside lane. The back of the trailer was then struck by a 2011 Dodge that was being driven by Jimmie Rae Smith (53) of Edmond.

 

Ebers was not injured and Smith was transported by Creek County EMS to St. Johns Hospital (Tulsa) where she was admitted. The passenger in the Smith vehicle, Elizabeth Miller (22) of Edmond was transported by Creek County EMS to St. Johns Hospital (Tulsa) where she was treated and released.

 

According to the DPS report the collision was caused by defective equipment, seat-belts were in use.
