(Cushing, Okla.) Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports an accident occurred at 02:04 (am) this morning at State Highway 33 and State Highway 18, about five miles west of Cushing, in Payne County, Oklahoma.

Donovan Clayton (48) of Cushing was driving a 2010 Dodge SUV with one passenger Lisa Clayton (46) also of Cushing. Clayton’s vehicle was northbound on State Highway 18 when it departed the roadway to the left, striking and embankment and then 20 feet of fence-line.

The accident was apparently caused by the driver being sleepy and falling asleep.

Both Donovan and Lisa Clayton were transported by Cushing EMS to Stillwater Medical Center. Donovan was treated and released. Lisa Clayton was admitted but is reportedly in stable condition with trunk internal, external and arm injuries.

Seat-belts were in use and airbags deployed.
