The Chandler Lions chalked one up in the win column Friday night taking down the Purple Pirates of Bristow 32-25 in Chandler. The Lions were led by the stout senior leadership in quarterback Chance Rich, wide receiver Tyler Milam and linebacker Tony Soto. The Lions duo of Rich and Milam were able to hook up for two touchdown passes in the first half both touchdowns coming off Bristow turnovers. The Lions also got rushing touchdowns from standout running back Jorge Mares who scored twice in the first half and quarterback Chance Rich who go the scoring started early in the first with a 36 yard touchdown run.
The Pirates fumbled the ball three times in the first half with senior linebacker Tony Soto recovering all three turnovers. The Lions had to stop the Pirates momentum late in the second half after the Pirates put up 12 unanswered points as well as holding the Lions scoreless in the second half. However, late in the fourth quarter the Lions were able to convert three third down conversions to seal the deal for the Lions first win of the season.
