(Stillwater, Ok.) — A homeless man, who allegedly told a Stillwater police officer he was “selling methamphetamine to make ends meet,” has been charged with trafficking the drug, as well as possessing alprazolam without a prescription and driving on a suspended license.
Jacob Alexander Hunt, 28, has been jailed on $50,000 bail pending his arraignment this week on the three-count charge punishable by a maximum penalty of life in prison plus two years in jail on conviction.
Hunt was arrested for driving under suspension at 11:57 pm on Oct 25 in the 700 block of S. Jardot following a traffic stop by Stillwater Police Officer Chance Whiteley at 11:21 pm, court records show.
When Hunt was searched, several baggies of suspected methamphetamine were found in the right front watch pocket of his jeans, the affidavit alleged.
“I also discovered a baggy with several partial pills” that appeared to be alprazolam for which Hunt said he did not have a prescription, the officer alleged in his affidavit.
A bag of suspected methamphetamine that weighed 21.5 grams was located in the center console of his vehicle, the affidavit alleged.
Hunt admitted that “he purchased that baggy of methamphetamine earlier today,” the affidavit alleged.
