Attention veterans and business managers and/or human resources specialists! Wednesday, March 31st, Workforce Oklahoma Veteran’s Workforce Investment Program (VWIP) and East Central University will be presenting a program.
Dr. Guy Sewell with East Central University will be educating attendees on the certifications currently available to veterans and how employers can benefit from employing military veterans in the workplace.
Veterans who complete the program at East Central University can earn up to 6 green energy job certificates in the following areas:
Weatherization and Blower Door Use Certification:
Prepares students for technical positions with HVAC contractors and energy efficiency agencies.
Infrared Science Use and Analysis Certification:
Prepares students for technical positions in the remodeling and energy conservation areas.
Water & Wastewater Class “D” License:
Prepares students for entry-level positions uin municipal fresh water and waste water systems.
Solar Energy System Certification:
Prepares students for entry-level positions in the renewable energy and green construction industries.
Basic Environmental Science:
Hazardous waste and environmental problems, energy and resource conservation, toxicology and environmental health topics.
The certificate training is provided under the direction of East Central University’s Institute for Environmental Science Education and Research.
Free room and board will be provided by ECU to participating veterans while attending classes.
