(Cushing, OK) – Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is now accepting patients for End Dependence, a drug and alcohol withdrawal program launched in September 2022. End Dependence is an inpatient stabilization service (detoxification) for adults desiring to withdraw from certain drugs and/or alcohol, including cocaine, methamphetamines and opioids.

“End Dependence is an amazing addition to the services already established in Cushing,” said Holly Dunn, community education and outreach manager. “Around 35% of calls we receive right now is due to Fentanyl use, and we are there to assist with that need. We want to be considered a friendly face and a helping hand during a difficult period in a person’s life.”

Patients admitted to the End Dependence program will experience a safe setting with medical supervision to aid in the substance withdrawal process. End Dependence accepts Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans. The program also works with several tribal nations on a referral basis. Cash pay options are also available.

“Withdrawal stabilization is the first step into recovery, and we want to help the patient through it and give the family a listening ear,” said Dunn. “Substance use disorder not only impacts the individual, but the loved ones surrounding them as well.”

The typical stay for a patient is about three days and the first step for admission is a telephone triage that includes long-term recovery facilities if needed.

An intake coordinator for Hillcrest Cushing is available Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. For additional information, call 918-225-2915 or visit hillcrest.com/end-dependence. End Dependence is also in operation at Hillcrest Henryetta and Hillcrest Claremore.
