Herbert Otis Waldon, Jr., was born to Herbert (H.O.) Otis Sr. and Della Mae (Harper) Waldon on October 8, 1957, in Tulsa, OK. He was the sixth of seven children. His parents and, two sisters Reginnia (Troy) and Priscilla, one-step brother John Green, Jr. and one -step sister Patricia Elston preceded him in death.

Herbert spent most of his childhood growing up in the Cushing and Pawnee communities; later moving to Tulsa, OK where he attended and graduated from McCain High School in 1975.

Herbert was a loving husband, father, and brother. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. He loved fishing, dancing, singing, telling jokes and making people laugh. He loved people laugh. He loved people and they loved him. He also loved the Philadelphia Eagles.

After attending welding school, he made his home in Oklahoma City. Later he met and married Fran Bruner, and from that union one child was born, Cherita.

In 1997, he met and married Mattie Bonds in Tulsa, OK. They made their home in Stroud, OK. He was employed as a welder at Service King. Herbert was a member of the Church of Christ, where he was a part time song leader.

Herbert passed away November 1, 2008. He leaves to cherish his memory; Mattie Waldon of the home, 5 children, Cherita Waldon, Tony Ray Poole, Demetria, Kevin and Todd Bonds, all of Oklahoma City, OK., stepfather. John Green, of Pawnee, OK, sisters Vicky Willis of Pawnee, OK, Janis (Robert) Nephew of El Reno, OK, Pearl (Ricky) Brown, Patricia (Paul) Hines of Oklahoma City, OK, Faye (Edward) Williams, Linda Kaye Green, step brother Arthur Green of Tulsa, OK, grandchildren, Journey Solei, Janiyah Sarae and 12 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces & nephews, 1 great great nephew. He had a special bond with cousins Kevin Darden, Tomy Richardson & Homer Waldon, Jr., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ, Stroud, OK. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Highland Cemetery in Pawnee, OK.
