Helen Bernice Ogle, a longtime Cushing resident passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Meadow Lake Estates Nursing Home in Oklahoma City at the age of 96.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing.  Pastor Andy Starnes and Chaplain Cathy Tisher will officiate.  Interment will follow at Fairlawn/New Zion Cemetery, Cushing.  Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.

Helen was born on June 24, 1917 in Wellston, Oklahoma to the late Howard and Hazel Juanita (Peery) Smith.  She grew up and attended school in Cushing, while in high school Helen enjoyed playing basketball.   Helen met and married the love of her life Clarence Albert Ogle on March 2, 1936.  Helen was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, the Salvation Army Home League and the Red Hat Club.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafts, and gardening.  Helen loved spending time with her family.

Helen is survived by her daughters Debbie Seeley and husband Harold of Oklahoma City, Mary Norris of Odessa, Tx., sister Jo Ann Sumpter of Cushing, eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Wilbur Howard Ogle, daughters Janice Marie Ogle and Helen Louise Hyle, brothers Wilbur Smith, Joe Don Smith, James Smith and Billy Smith, sisters Norma Jean Smith and Treva Smith.
