Haskell W. Cude, a Jennings area resident, passed away on February 23, 2010 at his home at the age of 94 years.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2010 in the Lawson Cemetery, Yale, OK. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale, OK.
The son of the late John Silas Cude and Myrtle (Boren) Cude, Haskell was born on February 21, 1916 in Mt. Park, OK where he was reared and educated. He then entered the United States Army in October of 1942, where he served during WW II. Haskell was united in marriage to the love of his life, LaVerne Wise on June 15, 1945 in Vernon, Texas. The couple then moved to the Jennings area in 1951 where he began working in the oilfields and ranching. He retired from Pawnee Petroleum in the 1990s. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing farmponds for catfish and gardening.
Survivors include his wife LaVerne of the home; son Gary Cude and wife Susie of Yale; grandchildren R.D. Ritter and wife Darlene of Yale, Kevin Cude of Yale, and Kymberly Vossler and her husband Chris of Jennings; and great grandchildren Haleigh Carothers, Jennifer Cude, and Matt Haskell Cude.
In addition to his parents, Haskell was preceded in death by daughter, Marilyn Bradshaw; sister Vera; and four brothers Howard, Loyd, Jess, and Ervin
