(Cushing, Okla.) Local musicians, Gene Collier, Rick Reiley, John Williams and Craig Skinner – aka the Dustbowl Brothers – will join the Cushing High School Jazz Band for a special concert this Saturday, March 9th in the Dora Hobbs Performing Arts auditorium at 7 p.m.
Collier and Reiley were guests on the Donna & Molly Show last Thursday to talk about the upcoming performance and to play a few tunes. Collier said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for our high school band to be able to perform at Carnegie Hall. We just want to try and help them raise some money so they can have a great time.” Collier has a grandson who plays percussion in the CHS band.
A hamburger cookout will be held outside from 5 – 7 p.m. as a fundraiser for the Cushing High School Band to help defray some of the cost of the band’s trip to perform at Carnegie Hall later in March. Cost of the hamburgers – $5.
The concert is free, but donations to the CHS Band are encouraged.
