Hal Lynn Hunt, age 78 of Yale, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at his home in Yale. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. , Monday, February 1, 2010 at the First Assembly of God in Yale. Pastor Raymond Dennis will officiate. Interment will follow at Lawson Cemetery , Yale.

Hal was born on November 18, 1931 in Yale , Oklahoma to the late Hal and Grace L. (Pendleton) Hunt. He grew up in Yale, graduating from Yale High School in1951.
Hal entered the U. S. Navy in 1951, serving his country during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. After being serving eight years in the Navy, he entered the U.S. Air Force, serving four years. After returning home from the service, he moved to Waxahachie, TX to attend Southwestern Assembly of God College. There he met the love of his life, Fern O. Gilder. They were married on August 26, 1966 in Dallas, TX . Hal was a conductor for Southern Pacific Railroad for twenty four years. He and Fern attended Evangel Temple Assembly of God church along with many friends and family until his retirement from the Railroad in 1992. After retirement, they moved back to Yale. Shortly there after a sudden illness of his oldest step daughter Charlotte left his thirteen year old grandson Ryan in the sole care of Hal and Fern. He was the primary caregiver to his wife until her passing in 2004. Hal was a member of Grace Assembly in Yale for many years. He enjoyed taking pride in his beautiful green yard and was the “King” giver of nicknames. Hal was a faithful loving grandfather, father, step father and husband. Who loved Jesus with all his heart and he devoted each and everyday faithfully to the Lord with Bible and prayer.
Survivors include his step daughters Glenda Kunau of Azel, TX., Janice Sillavan of Nashville , AR., Roberta Strawn of Jonesboro , AR., brothers Glenn Hunt of Sapulpa, Lyle Hunt of Waxahachie, TX., Harley Hunt of Sapulpa , Bob Hunt of Houston, sisters Eileen Fulton of Sapulpa , Fern Ince of Seal Beach, CA., grandchildren Ryan Falani, Glennette Falani, Christopher Kunau, Charity Kunau, Julie Virachack, Jerry Michael “Froggy” Sillavan, Jonathan Sillavan, Steven Strawn and Bethany Strawn and fifteen great grandchildren and extended family friends Rhonda Schroeder and Gloria Georae Schroeder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, step daughter Charlotte Falani, infant sister Grace, brother Gene Hunt, Lee (Butch) Hunt, Ferrold “Chick” Hunt.
