(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 28-year-old Guthrie man has been charged with breaking into a Stillwater man’s truck on Nov. 8 around 5 am.
Deon James Anderson was arrested about 30 minutes later, Stillwater Police Officer Damian Neiswanger wrote in an affidavit.
A Stillwater man said his truck was parked when he looked outside, saw someone in his truck and confronted him, the affidavit alleged.
“The male replied that he was not in the truck and walked up to the front door of a house,” before running, the affidavit alleged.
The truck owner said that his wallet containing debit cards was taken along with a jar of change, the affidavit said. A Stillwater police officer saw Anderson running behind the Stillwater Medical Center Clinic and caught him, the affidavit alleged.
“Officer Brese told me that Deon (Anderson) had dropped a backpack in the parking lot of the medical clinic,” Officer Neiswanger alleged in an affidavit.
The backpack contained the truck owner’s wallet with his driver’s license and debit cards; also the backpack had a Dewalt drill, battery, charger and a watch, all of which were identified as belonging to the truck owner and returned to him, the affidavit alleged.
