High-fives, hugs, cheers and screams echoed out as charity golfers watched Daniel Hernandez’s ball roll into the hole, scoring him a cool $2500.

The contest was sponsored by Kalka Insurance Agency, owned and operated by Lee Roy Kalka.

Of the 88 golfers entered into Saturday’s golf event, 70 entered the putting contest.  Preliminary round had golfers putting from 50 feet.

The top 5 putters closest to the hole were: Glyn Rose (5 feet from the hole), Dustin Bell (6 1/2 feet from the hole), Daniel Hernandez (7 1/2 feet from the hole), Tammy Wasson (8 feet from the hole), and David Clovis (10 feet from the hole).

At the beginning of the Cushing Regional Hospital Foundation/Cushing Masonic Lodge Charity Golf Event, Kalka said he wanted a winner from either the Hole in One contest or the Putting Contest.  Since the fundraisers beginning, no one had won either, but as Kalka said “It was time…”

Fred Forbes, Stillwater Golf Professional, was on hand to validate the putt.
