Goldie Mae Lamons, 89, of Yale, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011 at Linwood Village in Cushing, OK.  She was born on July 23, 1921 in Payne County to William Franklin and Loma Millie (May) Ellington.

Services were entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Yale, OK.

Funeral Services were at 10 am, Tuesday, July 19, 2011 in the 1st Assembly of God of Yale with Pastor Randell Newby officiating.  Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery of Pawnee.

Goldie was married to John Gerald Lamons on June 19, 1959.  Goldie grew up in and around Yale, attended school in Lone Chimney, Lone Elm and Riverside.  She later graduated Waxahachie Bible School.  Goldie later graduated nursing school as an LPN.  Goldie worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Wichita for a few years and then worked at the Pawnee Hospital for over 20 years until her retirement in 1987 when she moved back to Yale.  Goldie had been a member of the Pawnee Assembly of God and later the Yale 1st Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday School and helped with Vacation Bible School.

Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, 3 Brothers;  Vernon, Jim and Ray Ellington and also by 1 Sister- Opal Ellington.

Goldie is survived by her Brother;  Howard D.and his wife Oleta Ellington of Yale, Her sister;  Daisy Sneed of Yale, several Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews and other relatives and friends.
