Gloria Nadine Paxton Harris, retired school secretary at Sunnyside elementary school in Cushing, passed away on Tuesday morning, July 27, 2010 in her residence at the age of 71 years.
The daughter of the late Art Paxton and Hazel Matthews, Nadine was born on August 11, 1938 in Kansas City, KS and was raised in Quitman, MO. She was one of eight children.
Nadine was united in marriage to James H. Harris on December 29, 1965 in Pawnee, OK. To this union, one daughter Jami was born.
Nadine enjoyed traveling; she and her family traveled all over the United States, including Alaska, as well as Canada. Nadine loved spending time with her family and dog, Corky. She liked to read mystery novels, draw, work crossword puzzles and
Nadine is survived by her husband of over 45 years, James, of the home; one daughter, Jami Germain and her husband Phillip of Morrison, OK; two sisters, Phyllis Curtis of Jamestown, MO and Dorothy Osmoe and her husband Jerry of Mt. Olive, IL; one brother, Gene Coffmann of Kansas City, MO; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Herrmann and her husband Eugene of Cushing and Pauline Gillaspy and her husband Alvin of Oxnard, CA; one brother-in-law, Wilmer Smith and his wife, Carol, of Cushing and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Nadine was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Paxton, Bill Coffmann and Gary Coffmann.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Brother Keith Moore officiating.
Burial will
The family will greet friends on Friday, July 30, 2010 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center.
