(Cushing, Okla.) The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a one car accident occurred yesterday just before 5 (pm) on State Highway 15, 1.3 miles west of County Road 3450 (4 miles north and 4.3 miles west of Pawnee, Ok) in Pawnee County.
The driver Jessie Lee Roberson Jr. (Glencoe) was driving a 1996 Jeep Cherokee westbound on State Highway 15 when the Jeep he was driving departed the roadway to the right, going 807 feet. Roberson’s Jeep went through a ditch and then through a fence rolling .5 times before coming to rest on its top.
Roberson was transported by Air Evac to St. John Hospital (Tulsa) where he was admitted in stable condition with leg, arm, head, and external trunk injuries.
According to OHP reports the cause of the accident was DUI. Roberson’s airbag did deploy however, he did not have his seat-belt in use at the time of the accident.
