“‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
The middle letter of the word “PRIDE” is “I.” When “I” gets in the way, God cannot work through us. God wants us to get rid of pride in our life. I have often said, “there is only one letter difference between “run” and “ruin.” If we try to run our life, it will lead to ruin. God had a purpose in mind when he created us. There are great things that He desires for us today.
What keeps us from doing these things for God? One word – DOUBT, the great enemy of our mind. Doubt paralysis us and we end up settling for mediocrity. I believe that most people live below what God has in store for them!
What causes us to doubt the great things that God can do with our lives? We compare our abilities to someone else. The Bible says, “It is dumb (stupid) to compare yourself to other people.” 2 Corinthians 10:12. A second thing we do is to remember our past failures. The good news is, God uses people with past failures to do incredible things for His glory. Through the cross, your past can be taken care of.
Prayer for the day: God, help me to realize how good your way is. Remind me of my pride and help me to give You control.
