(Cushing) – The time is drawing close for the 12th annual BBQ & Blues Festival. Three bands are set to perform throughout the day at the festival, which was organized as a tribute to Cushing’s Oil & Pipeline Industry. Commemorative T-shirts, which have become collectibles, went on sale this week at the Cushing Chamber and other locations around Cushing.
The event begins with a poker run at 9:00 AM Saturday, and the BBQ tasting begins at 11:00 AM.
The first band to perform, The Bluehemians, also kicks off the music at 11:00. They will be followed by Home Brewed at 1:00, and at 3:00 PM, Slick Willie and the Right Cats will close out the show which runs until 5:00 PM.
Parking is free across the street from the festival grounds at the Cushing Regional Airport. Shuttles will run continuously between the parking area and the festival grounds.
Other attractions will also be featured, including childrens games and airplane rides.
