(Cushing, Okla.)  Friends and art patrons are encouraged to participate in the Purchase Award program again this year.  Rob Smith, Director of Lachenmeyer Arts Center and artist coordinator for Festival in the Park wrote:

“The Purchase Award program is a commitment to buy art prior to Festival in the Park.  This progam allows us to bring quality artists to Cushing.  Simply send us a check for the amount you wish to spend at the Festival.  Art Purchase Awards are sold in amounts of $25, $50, and $100 or more.  On the day of the Festival, you may pick up your purchase award coupons at the Lachenmeyer Arts Center table.  Coupons are spent like cash.”

This year, Drumright Dental Center and the Cushing Arts & Humanities Council has each donated $250 and Spirit Bank has donated $100 for a total of $600 in purchase awards to be given away at the Festival.  To be eligible to win, you must buy a purchase award.  Your name will be entered into the drawing once for every $25 you buy in purchase awards for a chance to win $200 in purchase awards.  Three drawings ($200 each) will be held during the Festival. 

“The Purchase Award program allows us to attract artist who don’t usually participate in art shows in smaller communities such as Cushing,” Smith said.  “Please consider participating!”

Rules to Participate:

1.  You must buy a purchase award to be eligible.

2.  Your name will be placed in the drawing once for every $25 purchase award you buy.  

3.  If a business buys purchase awards for their employees, the employee names will be placed in the basket for the drawing.

4.  You must be present to win!  There will be a $200 drawing at approximately 11:00 am, 12:00 noon & 1:00 pm.  If your name is pulled from the basket and you are not present it will be returned to the basket for the remaining drawing.  (HINT: Put your cell phone number on the pledge form and we will call you.)

5.  The $200 purchase award must be spent at the artists’ booths.  It cannot be used for t-shirts, concessions, festival posters, etc.  No change will be given.

6.  A winner of a $200 purchase award is not eligible to win an additional $200 purchase award.

7.  Any Purchase Award not spent will go towards the operating costs of the Festival in the Park.
