(Stillwater, Okla.) — Four individuals were charged today as co-defendants with using an air rifle to shoot at seven cars, plus a window pane owned by Oklahoma State University and a window at an apartment, all in Stillwater on New Year’s Day.
If convicted of two felony counts and seven misdemeanor counts, the defendants, age 19 to 21, could be incarcerated for 11 years and fined $5,500, according to the charges filed today by prosecutor Tom Lee.
The maximum penalty for malicious injury to property ranges from a two-year prison term plus a $1,000 fine for damage over $1,000 for each felony count, to a one-year jail term plus a $500 fine for damage under $1,000 for each misdemeanor count, court records show.
The co-defendants were listed as Maurice Patrick Calloo, 19, of Huntington, WV; Michael Kelvin Weathers, 21, of Morsani Hall in Stillwater; Imani Ivanya Patterson, 19, of Oklahoma City; and Kentrevious Malik Jaquez Jones, 20, of Morsani Hall in Stillwater.
They are accused of using an air rifle to shoot:
* the hood, front panel and front and rear doors of a Toyota Rav4 at 135 S. James Court in Stillwater — causing $4,500 damage;
* the rear window, front window and 14 body dents of a 2007 Ford Edge at OSU parking lot #105 — causing $3,093 damage;
* the rear door window of an apartment at 135 S. James Court in Stillwater — causing less than $1,000 damage;
* the windshield of a Chevrolet Malibu at 135 S. James Court in Stillwater — causing less than $1,000 damage;
* the rear window of a Ford Escape at OSU parking lot #58 in Stillwater — causing less than $1,000 damage;
* a window pane owned by OSU at the Monroe Street parking garage — causing less than $1,000 damage;
* a rear window of a Ford Thunderbird at OSU parking lot #58 — causing less than $1,000 damage;
* a rear window of a Jeep at OSU parking lot #105 — causing less than $1,000 damage;
* the rear window and rear fender of a Nissan at OSU parking lot #105 — causing less than $1,000 damage.
The case was investigated by the Stillwater Police Department and the OSU Police Department, court records show.
Since the charges were just filed this afternoon, the defendants’ arraignment dates have not yet been set.
