(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 36-year-old Stillwater man has been ordered to appear before a judge on Oct. 15 for arraignment in trial court on a charge of forcible oral sodomy on a 19-year-old unconscious patient at a Stillwater dental clinic while he was employed as a clinical assistant in June of 2021.
Cody Allen Stolfa was arrested in July after the FBI notified Stillwater police about a video sent on Telegram of an unconscious individual being sexually assaulted by a medical professional in a dental office, an affidavit alleged.
Stolfa, who remains held in the Payne County Jail on $50,000 bail, could be given as much as a 20-year prison term if convicted, court records show.
Stillwater Police Detectives Stephanie Wheeler and Mary Kellison, along with Sgt. Kurt Merrill, met four months ago with FBI agents, who “had received a video sent on Telegram of a person who appears to be unconscious in a dental office,” while being sexually assaulted by a medical professional, an affidavit alleged.
After obtaining a search warrant for employee records at the dental office on S. Pine, Stillwater police spoke to the office manager, according to the affidavit.
“I provided her with a screenshot of the suspect in the video. I asked her if she knew him and if he was an employee. She stated it was Cody and he did not work there very long. She provided me with his complete work file. I was told he was a clinical assistant. His role was to assist with dental surgery and to assist with after-surgery tasks such as recovery. I was told that Cody was relieved of his job on 10/13/2021,” Detective Wheeler alleged in her affidavit.
When the victim and his father arrived at the Stillwater Police Department as requested in July of 2024, he was told “we believed him to be a victim of a sexual assault that took place while he was unconscious. He was provided with a screenshot of who I believed to be him from the video. He was asked if it was him. He stated it was.
“He believed it to be from when he was getting his wisdom teeth removed. He would have been in college, so he was over 18 years old. He did not consent, know anybody from the office or have this encounter planned,” Detective Wheeler alleged in her affidavit.
