(Stillwater, Okla.) — A former Cushing man on probation for assault and battery on a Stroud police officer was charged Monday with running a roadblock, attempting to elude officers, and false reporting of a crime, all on Saturday in a case investigated by the Payne County Sheriff’s Office.
Levi Edgar Kraft, 34, of Stillwater, who posted $50,000 bail on Saturday, remains free pending his arraignment Tuesday on his three-count charge in Payne County.
According to Lincoln County court records, when Kraft lived in Cushing in 2016, he was charged with two counts of assault and battery on a police officer along with another count of assault and battery, all in Stroud.
In 2018, Kraft pleaded guilty and was placed on five years’ probation for one count of assault and battery on a Stroud police officer with concurrent terms of one year of probation for his other two assault and battery charges.
Kraft was ordered to complete an anger management course, obtain a substance abuse assessment, complete all recommended follow-up treatment, and perform 50 hours of community service along with paying $1,200 in fees and assessments, Lincoln County court records show.
