Flora Jean Gertner, a longtime Cushing resident and business owner, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009 at her home in Cushing.  Private services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

 Jean was born on October 18, 1930 in Cushing to the late Bill and Hazel (Tate) Davenport .  She grew up in Cushing and graduated from Cushing High School in 1948.

Jean attended secretarial school in Oklahoma City .  She married Stanley Gertner on November 24, 1954 in Cushing.  They lived briefly in Okmulgee , before making their home in Cushing.  They owned a Western Store, the Cushing Hotel and numerous other businesses throughout the years.  They opened their home to Jenna, whom was a foster child, who became a part of their family.

Jean is survived by her daughter Jennifer Gertner of Cushing, Jenna of Cushing, cousin Johnny and Mary Widner of Cushing, Marolyn and Paul Pace of Cushing.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, her husband Stanley Gertner and her daughter Sharon Gertner.
