KUSH is proud to announce that Bill “Willie” Kerr has been named our very first Neighbor of the Week. The big announcement was made this morning on the Donna and Molly Show.

Neighbor of the Week came about after Gerald Jolley, owner of Jolley Realty, approached KUSH about doing something to honor “good neighbors” in the community.

“There is so much bad news on tv and in newspapers, that I thought it would be nice if we could hear about the good things people do every day to help their neighbors,” Jolley said.

Voila! Neighbor of the Week was born!

Anyone can nominate someone for Neighbor of the Week by writing down the name of the person you’d like to nominate and the reason you think they are a good neighbor.

Ann and Lawrence Pippenger nominated Kerr. “Willie is always there to help anytime someone needs him,” Ann Pippenger said. “His church, other people, whatever they need, he does it- and always with a smile.”

Kerr, the man with the big heart and helpful hands, thanked the Jolleys for presenting him a framed certificate naming him Neighbor of the Week. “I wish there was more,” Jolley told Kerr.

“That’s enough for me,” Kerr said.

Besides the certificate, a bold Neighbor of the Week sign will stay in Kerr’s front yard, honoring him as this week’s good neighbor.
