(Cushing, Okla.)  The First Christian Church Relay for Life team has set their sights for the second year in a row to walk from Mannford to Cushing as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.  This year, several members will also be walking from the Logan County Line to meet the Mannford walkers in Cushing.

Joyce Abrams, one of the organizers of the walk, was a guest on the Donna & Molly Show, Monday, to talk about the upcoming walk.

“We are ready to do it again,” Abrams said.  “It was such an emotional experience we just had to.”  Abrams said she, like so many others, has been touched personally by cancer through the loss of loved ones.

The walk was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2013, but has been postponed due to a death in the family of one of the walkers.  The new date has been set for Saturday, April 20, 2013.  Walkers will meet at the IGA in Mannford at 5:30 a.m. to begin the 32 mile trek for Relay for Life.  The walk will end near the football field at Cushing High School.

Last year the walk brought in over $1200 and they are hoping to raise even more this year.
