It just wouldn’t be the Fourth of July without fireworks.  And thanks to the generosity of many local citizens, Cushing will have a fireworks display again this year.

Fundraising efforts, led by a Chamber of Commerce committee, allowed the purchase of over $7,000 worth of fireworks for Sunday night’s display.  The show will begin about “dark thirty” and is expected to run about 25 minutes.  Rockets will be “bursting in air” just north of the Cushing Airport.   Parking is available along Airport Drive and in the Industrial Park along 19th Street.

Fire Chief Brent Kerr and Capt Franklin Reed of the Cushing Fire Department will lead the team (licensed and trained by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) of local fire department personnel.  Both Kerr and Reed are licensed by the Kansas State Fire Marshall’s Office.

Have a Happy Fourth of July weekend and Be Safe!

*Chief Brent Kerr will be live on the Donna and Molly Show, Thursday, July 1st at 8:30 a.m. on 1600 KUSH Radio.
