(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
A fatality collision occurred on December 26th (2018) at approximately 1:28 pm, on State Highway 51 approximately 2/10 of a mile east of State Highway 108 (Rose Road) east of Stillwater, in Payne County.
Joshua D. Garnett, (34) of Yale, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound on SH 51 and Shelby N. Chatham, (48) of Yale, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu that was westbound on SH 51 when the head-on collision occurred in the westbound lane of SH 51.
Garnett was transported by LifeNet EMS to St John Medical Center (Tulsa).
Chatham was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel due to his injuries and his passenger, Lori A. Chatham, (46) of Yale, was transported by LifeNet EMS to St John Medical Center (Tulsa).
According to the DPS report the collision is still under investigation, and seat-belts were equipped and in use by all occupants in both vehicles.
