(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 50-year-old Agra man has been notified by letter to appear in Payne County District Court on Sept. 14 on a felony charge accusing him of embezzling $1,165 worth of property and money from Calvin’s Wrecker Service in rural Cushing while he was an employee on May 5.
If convicted of taking a tow ticket book, credit card, Apple iPhone, weed eater and monies due for tows, impounds and tolls from the business, Lonnie James Morris could be given as much as a five-year prison term and a $5,000 fine, court records show.
Payne County Sheriff’s Investigator Brandon Myers was contacted on May 14 by the owner of Calvin’s Wrecker “wanting to pursue embezzlement charges against an ex-employee, Lonnie Morris,” according to an affidavit.
“Lonnie was one of his wrecker drivers out of his Cushing yard. Lonnie’s last day of employment was 5/5/2021. Lonnie was terminated, yet he has not returned several items belonging to Calvin’s Wrecker,” the affidavit alleged.
“Calvin and his staff have attempted to get Lonnie to return the items, yet he has failed to do so,”  the affidavit alleged.
