Ethel Louise Marrs, a former Cushing, Oklahoma resident, now of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the age of 90 years.
The daughter of the late Samuel VanVliet and Erminnie Fonseca VanVliet, Ethel was born on March 4, 1925 in New York, New York, where she was raised and educated.
She was united in marriage to Charles Clifford Marrs in 1944 and to this union three children, Sherry, Danny and Patricia were born. Clifford preceded her in death on April 18, 2003. Following his death she made her residency in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
She attended the Worship Center Church in Harrisville, Missouri and loved her church and church family. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading spending time with her family and friends and was an avid Kansas City “Chiefs” fan. All that knew her loved her and will miss her.
She is survived by her children, Danny Marrs and his wife Kathy and Patricia Shore and her husband Robert; her grandchildren, Denise Gregg, Danny Morgan, Barbara Morgan, Christine and Tom Mott, Tracy and Mikal Drange, Jenifer Marrs, Stefanie Marrs, Kimberly Shore, Steven and Lori Shore, and Martin Shore; great-grandchildren, Morgan Gregg, Kevin Gregg, Kaitlyn Mott, Sarah Mott, Grace Mott, Julia Mott, Marissa Drange, Nicholas Drange, Charissa and Armondo Medina, Michael Hulett, Cassandra Hulett, Alayna Shore, Blake Shore, Cayden Shore, Nathaniel Shore, Gordan Shore, Alex Shore and Hannah Shore; great-great-grandchildren, Maria Medina, Christofer Medina, Christian Medina, Brayan Medina and Colton Burton, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ethel was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Morgan; one sister, Betty Weitz; one brother, Johnny VanVliet and one grandson, Robbie Shore.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 1 P.M. in the Rest Haven Cemetery at Sperry, Oklahoma.
A Memorial services will be held at the Worship Center Church in Harrisonville, Missouri on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 1:00 P.M.
