Elsie Levonne Bryant, longtime area resident, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at her residence at the age of 74 years.

    The daughter of the late Lester Hammock and Walcie Ross Hammock, Levonne was born on March 8, 1938 in Mannford and was raised and educated in the Yale and Quay areas until moving to Stillwater at the age of 11.  She graduated from Donart High School in Stillwater in 1956.

    She was united in marriage to Bobby Gene Bryant on November 21, 1957 in Stillwater; to this union three children Michael Gene, Terry Lynn and Donna Marie were born.  They were married for 36 years.

    Levonne moved to Cushing in 1965; she helped operate three service stations, Derby, Careco & DX and worked at a furniture store.  She worked outside the home for 22 years as a housekeeper before being forced to retire due to health. 

    She enjoyed working outdoors, housework, sewing, crafts, refinishing furniture, auctions, flea markets & yard sales.  Also attending school trips, church trips, ballgames for kids, deer hunting and fishing.  Levonne became a member and was baptized at Council Valley Baptist Church on March 24, 1996.

    Levonne is survived by her three children, Michael Gene Bryant and Rhonda, Terry Lynn Bryant and Donna Marie Marcum; five  grandchildren, Kevin Michael Bryant, Geneva LeGene (Neal) Anderson and her husband Blake, Zachery Tyler Neal, William Parker Marcum and James Kilgore; two great-grandchildren, Nadia Anderson and Gabriel Anderson; eight brothers, Vernon Hammock and his wife Esther of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, James Hammock and his wife Rita of Tampa, Florida, Tony Hammock and his wife Janie of Drumright, Jerry Hammock and his wife Jean of Bixby, Ferrold Hammock and his wife Becky of Billings, Oklahoma, Lloyd Hammock and his wife Janice of Mannford, Norman Hammock of Drumright and Robert Hammock and his wife Mary of Cushing; one sister, Linda Von Boening and her husband Craig of Bakersfield, California; the boys who called her Mom, they worked and played and became part of the family and other relatives and friends.

    In addition to her parents, Levonne was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Courtney Marie Marcum and sister-in-law, Sandra Hammock.

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Council Valley Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Lehr officiating.

    Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Drumright.
