Elroy “Dick” Ivy age 76 of Yale, passed away on Monday evening at the Drumright Nursing Home.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Yale.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale.
Dick was born on January 31, 1932 in Cox City, Oklahoma to Alford Blain and Velma (McDaniel) Ivy.
He graduated from Cox City in 1950. Dick worked for Halliburton, driving a truck for a couple of years.
He moved to Oklahoma City and began working as a manager for a paint and body shop. He married Betty
on July 7, 1974 in Atoka, Oklahoma. They lived in Oklahoma City, moving to Yale in 2001. He was a member
of the First Baptist Church, Yale. Dick was also a member of the American Legion in Oklahoma City
and a 32 degree Mason, Lodge 36. Dick loved playing the guitar and a number of other instruments. He
played many nights a week for several senior citizens including Yale, Oilton, Perkins, Morrison, Cleveland
and numerous other places.
Survivors include his wife Betty of the home, sons Roy Lynn Ivy of Yale, Gary Don Ivy and wife Cynthia
of Yukon, sister Lori O’Brian of Oklahoma City, grandchildren Tim Ivy, Rachelle England, Heather Lassley,
Heath Ivy and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, brothers Letroy Ivy and Herman Ivy and sister Loretta Henderson.
