Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Mays, longtime Cushing resident, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014, at her home, at the age of 65 years.
The daughter of the late John Mendinghall and Earline Sylvia McBride Mendinghall, Elizabeth was born on November 14, 1949 in Cushing, Oklahoma and was raised and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School.
She later received her Masters Degree from Oklahoma State University in Political Science.
She enjoyed reading, re-connecting with her friends on Facebook; spending time with her grandchildren and was known by her family and friends as someone who was always encouraging to others and a happy person.
She is survived by her children, Brandon Mendinghall of Meridian, Oklahoma, Kristen Stokes and her husband Nathan of Austin, Texas, Karilen Mays of Spring City, PA, and Ashley Mays and her fiancé Patrick Scott of Yale, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Taylor Mendinghall, Branden Mendinghall, Somer Dawn Roach and Ethan Scott; several great-grandchildren, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Fellowship Baptist Church in Yale.
