(Cushing, Okla.) Thursday morning, Cushing police welcomed students from the Early Bird Headstart at the police department. Sgt. Jack Ford and MPO Bill McCarty took time this morning to show the students around the police department. Their visit was capped off by a police car demonstration given my MPO McCarty.
“It is always fun to interact with our youngest citizens,” MPO Bill McCarty said. A surprise for Sgt. Jack Ford was his grandson being part of the class that toured the police department this morning. “I just appreciated getting the chance to interact with all of the kids,” Ford said. “They are a ton of fun.”
Before leaving, MPO McCarty and Sgt. Ford presented each kid with a sticker badge. The kids also received coloring and safety story books, which are made possible by those Cushing businesses and individuals who support the National Child Safety Council, a yearly fund raising representative for the police department.
