(Stillwater) — A Drumright man who is accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl in her home in eastern Payne County has been jailed on $150,000 bond pending a Dec. 8 court appearance.

Robert William Rich, 21, could receive as much as a 50-year prison term if convicted of first-degree rape, rape by instrumentation and forcible sodomy, according to the charges filed by Payne County prosecutor Tom Lee earlier this week.

The alleged abuse, which is believed to have occurred between August and October, was discovered by the girl’s mother, who contacted the Drumright Police Department last week and sought Rich’s arrest, court records show.

He pleaded guilty and his case was remanded to juvenile court before then Payne County Associate District Judge Robert Murphy Jr., court records show.

Rich was placed in the L.E. Rader Center in Sand Springs in 2003 and released by the court in 2005 to live with relatives, according to an OJA report that was filed in court documents in 2006.
