Thursday December 4th is the date set for the annual Downtown Cushing Old Fashioned Christmas open house.

Kids Town, a shopping opportunity for children only, will again be open at the Lion’s Den at 224 West Broadway from 4 pm – 9 pm. This store is stocked by downtown merchants with affordable gift ideas to fit the youthful budget. Children will be provided assistance in their gift selections and purchases will be gift bagged for them.

Golden Reflections of Rock and Roll will provide outdoor Christmas music, and weather permitting, there will be a community Christmas tree lighting in Centennial Park at 5:30. An open invitation is extended to area residents to bring a decoration from home to share with the community.

Santa will be visiting with children and hearing their Christmas wishes at US Martial Arts Training Center at their new location on the corner of Moses and Cleveland in Downtown Cushing until 8 o’clock.

Carriage rides will begin at Bank of Cushing at 5 pm and run until 8pm.

Entertainment will begin at the Cushing Community Theatre from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm beginning with a Christmas story reading by Laura Lou Pierson who will read ‘A Cup of Christmas Cheer’. There will also be a demonstration by US Martial Arts students, and Christmas songs by Cushing Middle school students.

The public is invited to come join us in this annual celebration of the season.
